My new throw down truck

I almost forgot to tell you I got a new ride, it is a 2002 Ford F-250 Lariat 4x4 crew cab, swb, 7.3 litre powerstroke diesel. I sold my gas burner and got a diesel so I could lay down a bigger carbon footprint, lol. No I got it so I could pull stuff with ease and I wanted a 4x4 to go deer hunting in Nebraska. I love the truck and can't wait to see what it looks like pulling the mustang to Florida!!!

Paint time

I finally have something to write about, yes it is true the car has paint on it now. After several times sealing and blocking we got the car ready for paint and sprayed it today. The doors, fenders, hood, and deck lid are not painted yet but getting the shell done was a huge thing because now I can start putting the car together again. The first thing I have to do is finish spraying the gator gaurd on the underneath side, detail the rearend and springs out because I got overspray on them, and then I will put the new suspension in it. After I get all of that done I plan on dropping the engine and transmission in it, running all of the wiring front and back, and then start on the interior and dash. One more round of sealer

OK, today Mike and I finished blocking out the car and I cleaned up all the edges. Tomorrow we will spray the final coat of sealer on it then water sand and paint. Here are some pictures to look at, I put a video on YouTube also since the up loader on blogger.com does not work half the time.

Finally after tons and tons of sanding and edge work we were ready to put sealer on today. Everything looks really good and we will probably block a couple more times and then be ready to dis-assemble so we can clean the inside edges up. When we take the fenders and doors off I will spray the sound deaden er on the insides of the doors and fenders. Once the car is stripped of its doors and fenders we will paint the entire shell, the doors and fenders will be painted later. Here are some pictures to enjoy! Long time no blog.

Hey everyone! It has been nearly two months since I last wrote in this blog, man how time fly's. The weather down here in San Antonio has been unbelievably hot and has cut our hours down considerably. We had 23 days in July over 100 degrees, heat indexes in the 115 degree range and NO rain. San Antonio is now in stage 2 water restrictions and soon to be stage 3, basically this just means no wasteful use of water, no sprinklers and you can only water on certain days and times. I am sure looking forward to a break in the heat and some good old rain!

The family is doing great, Emma and Kaleb are growing up too fast. Emma is now four and a half months old! She is doing really good and so is Kaleb, he starts Kindergarten on August 24Th.

Mike and I had a 53 Chevrolet 5 window pickup come in and we all decided that we would go ahead and do the paint job on it and get it done. Well that turned into more of a restoration than a paint job so it took a little longer. The truck is done now and turned out great I might add, so now it is Mustang time. Today I worked on the engine some, drilling and tapping the heads out for the headers. I had to put 2 extra bolt holes per exhaust port to accommodate the headers, this is not necessary as the cobra jet heads were the only ones that had 4 bolts per port[GT had 3], but I don't want any exhaust leaks and I figured if the holes are already in the headers why not use them. Mike is still working on fitting all the panels and doing body work to them. Making straight lines...even

Well I always knew that body work was a art, I just didn't know that I would be a artist some day! I am slowly learning the ins and outs of the body work side of things. I really enjoy metal working and I am fairly versed at it, just never so much on the body work side. Mike has been teaching me how to paint and how to apply fillers and the different stages of applying what,where, and how. I have now painted my fifth vehicle and put several runs in the clear, oh well makes for good conversation in the paint booth!!!

I wanted to put a couple of videos up for your viewing pleasure (DAVE). Lots of progress is being made on the stang, but as they say,"Rome wasn't built in a day". Mike has left for vacation, and we also plan to leave the state of Texas on the 10th of June and head to Edgar,NE for the annual demolition derby which I will be driving in. It will be a smashing good time for everyone involved, hope to see you all there!
